Life is hectic, unpredictable
people running to and fro
work and family, worries, joys
things to cut and things to grow
tomorrow is not a promise
today is lived like a hurricane
so focused on this future
of material and momentary gain
But for a moment the rain stopped
and the earth refused to spin
i thought of you for one brief second
but i could not let you in
Emotions running fast like feet
thoughts that never stop
we take what we can get
and wait for the other shoe to drop
our gears are moving forward
the future is coming fast
we can't be slowed by memory lane
or ghost from lives lived past
But for a moment i choked
and my heart skipped a single beat
i thought of you for one brief second
but i could not be that weak
My life fits so together now
can't afford to fall apart
just listen to the firing neurons
because we all have foolish hearts
and if we stop to listen
we'll brake this constant flow
the world is very clear on this:
we reap whatever we sow
But for a moment i closed my eyes
i forgot about protocol and style
i thought of you for one brief second
and i couldn't help but smile.
